Engine remapping

What is engine remapping?

It is a modification of the engine ECU parameters to optimise performance: more power, more torque and, depending on use, better efficiency. At MTG Auto Sport, every map is developed specifically for your engine.

Is a Stage 1 risky for my engine?

A Stage 1 carried out properly by a professional stays within the engine's safety margins. However, it is essential that the vehicle is in good mechanical condition before any modification: we check it with you before starting work.

Can remapping void my manufacturer's warranty?

Yes, remapping may affect the manufacturer's warranty, as it changes the vehicle's original parameters. The original file from your ECU is saved before any work is carried out and can be reinstalled.

Is engine remapping legal?

Any change to a vehicle's original characteristics, such as its power output, must in principle be declared and may require its homologation to be updated. We explain what this means for your vehicle before any work is carried out.

Do I need to inform my insurer?

Yes, we recommend informing your insurer of any engine modification, to avoid any problems in the event of a claim.

E85 conversion

Is my vehicle compatible with an E85 conversion?

Most petrol engines can be converted, but some models require additional modifications. Contact us with your vehicle to check its compatibility.

Do the spark plugs need to be changed before a conversion?

We recommend checking the spark plugs and, if necessary, replacing them to ensure optimal combustion with E85.

Should I alternate with SP98 from time to time?

It is not compulsory. Some drivers prefer to fill up with SP98 from time to time, as E85 is drier than conventional petrol, in order to protect the injection system.

Is conversion by remapping homologated?

The official homologation procedure ("FE" mention on the registration certificate) applies to approved add-on boxes. Conversion by remapping does not follow this procedure and has no equivalent official recognition. More details on our page E85 conversion.

ECUs and parts

What do you sell?

Some used ECUs identified by their part numbers, Green air filters, tools and remapping software. Everything is available in our shop.

How do I know whether a used ECU is compatible with my vehicle?

Compatibility is only guaranteed if the references of your original ECU are identical to those of the part (manufacturer reference and carmaker reference). If in doubt, send us a photo of your ECU's label.

What services do you offer on a used ECU?

Depending on the part number: as is, blank, Reset Full, Immo Off or cloning to the data of your original ECU. Only the services possible for each part are offered on its page.

Diagnostics, coding and remote service

What is an electronic diagnostic?

It is an analysis of the vehicle's electronic systems to identify faults. It allows electrical and electronic problems to be detected quickly and avoids unnecessary repairs.

What are coding and adaptation?

This means customising your vehicle's electronic functions: activating hidden features, adjusting the lights, instrument cluster settings and more. Most recent vehicles are compatible, but the available functions depend on the model and year.

Can you help if I am far from Ballancourt?

Yes. With the File Service, you read your ECU and send us the file, which we then modify. You can also send us your ECU by post : we remap it and send it back to you.
