At MTG Auto Sport, E85 (bioethanol) conversion does not involve fitting an additional box. We remap your engine ECU directly so that it natively handles bioethanol: adaptation of the injection tables, ignition and fuelling correction factors.

Why is it different from an E85 box?

How it works

1. Diagnostics of your vehicle and verification of engine/ECU compatibility
2. Reading of the ECU (on site, remotely or by post, depending on the option chosen)
3. Modification of the injection, ignition and fuelling tables to accommodate bioethanol
4. Writing of the modified file and final verification

Flex-fuel remapping by ECU postage

449 € — Don't have the equipment, or too far away? Send us your ECU directly and we will remap it and send it back to you.

File Service — file only

165 € — Have you already read your ECU yourself (equipped workshop)? We only modify the file, which you then write back on your side.

FAQ

Is E85 conversion by remapping legal?

The “FE” (FlexFuel) mention on the registration certificate and the official homologation procedure apply to approved add-on boxes registered in the French Vehicle Registration System (SIV). Engine remapping does not follow this procedure and has no equivalent official recognition: in this case, there is nothing to be entered on the registration certificate.

We are transparent with you about this during the diagnostics — do not hesitate to ask us directly if you have any doubts about your situation.

Can I go back to the original map?

Yes. The original file from your ECU is saved before any modification and can be reinstalled.

Which makes/engines are compatible?

At MTG Auto Sport, as the conversion is carried out by remapping (rather than with an add-on box), almost all petrol engines are compatible — including direct-injection engines (PureTech, TSI, EcoBoost, THP…), which are often harder to convert with a conventional box but are handled well with a suitably adapted engine map.

The only exceptions:

• The Diesel engines (chemically incompatible with ethanol, no conversion possible)
• The engines GPL/GNV
• A few special cases (undersized fuel pump/injection system, very old engines) to be validated during diagnostics
