TCU gearbox ECU cloning and virginisation by post

Is your TCU gearbox ECU (Transmission Control Unit) is faulty, in limp mode, or you have bought a used ECU that is not recognised by your vehicle? Send us the ECU(s), we work on them on the bench and return them to you ready to refit.

Two services

• TCU cloning (€169 incl. VAT) : we copy all the data from your faulty ECU (transmission parameters, coding, immobiliser, VIN, calibration) to a donor ECU. You send us both ECUs in the same parcel. 186 compatible references.
• TCU virginisation (€149 incl. VAT) : we restore a used gearbox ECU to a blank state so that it can be adapted to your vehicle. ECUs covered: Mercedes VGS2, VGS3 and VGS4 NAG2, DSM and ISM, BMW Continental 6HP and ZF 8HP (AL450 to AL952) on BMW only.

Compatible ECUs

The full list is available in the reference selection menu, with a search by reference (DQ200, DQ381, 8HP, DC4, EDC, VGS2…). It covers in particular DSG gearboxes (DQ200, DQ250, DQ381, DQ500, DL501), ZF 6HP, 8HP and 9HP, Aisin, Getrag (DC4, DPS6, MPS6), Mercedes 7G and 9G-Tronic, GM, Hyundai/Kia and Porsche PDK.

Some references are marked ⚠️ depending on version : their compatibility depends on the exact version of the ECU. We check it on receipt using the reference printed on the label. If your version is not compatible, you will be refunded in full.

Non-compatible ECUs

The following ECUs cannot be cloned or virginised at the moment: Ford / Temic UTCU3 (10R80, 10R140, 6F55, 8F40), Temic 6R140, Bosch 7DCT330, Hitachi BEA21-110N and RE7R01A, Hycet 9AT and 9HAT, Tsingshan 7WDCT and DF733, Siemens/Continental CVT25, Mitsubishi CVT CAN-BUS (MH5006F, MH8104F, MH8111F), Mitsubishi G1T30578 and G2T601x, Melco G1T32774 and Kefico B04T.

How it works

1. You choose your service and your ECU reference, then place your order. The return method for your ECU is selected at checkout.
2. You receive the shipping label supplied by MTG Auto Sport by e-mail.
3. You send us your ECU, or both of your ECUs for a cloning job, properly packaged.
4. We carry out the work within 48 working hours of receipt.
5. We send the part back to you using your chosen return method, with a tracking number.

Symptoms of a faulty TCU

• Automatic gearbox in limp mode or stuck in 3rd gear
• Unable to change gear properly

• Jerking or hesitation when changing gear
